What is Hardship?
Hardship is when a customer is willing but unable to meet the repayment obligations of their loan due to unexpected events or unforeseen circumstances. Examples of hardship include changes in employment status (such as loss of employment or a reduction in working hours), injury, illness, emergency events and natural disasters.
Importantly, a customer in financial hardship can reasonably be expected to meet the repayment obligations of their loan if appropriate assistance or arrangements are provided.
A request for hardship assistance is strictly confidential and unlikely to affect your credit rating. To assist customers facing financial hardship, we encourage customers to talk to us directly so we can discuss available options and work together to find a solution.
